87% have missed their stop
Some commuters know the feeling of missing their stop or destination, maybe because they are drowsy from usually waking up early, really drained from working all day, or they get preoccupied and get digitally distracted by their phones.
Well, that's not a great way to start or end the day, right? Fortunately, the Andito app can prevent that from ever happening so go with me as we go on a journey of the creation of the Andito Alarm app.
The first thing I did was to conduct surveys from daily commuters, unfortunately, I wasnt able to gather participants for an interview due to time constraints. A total of 23 people participated in the survey
87% have missed their stop
61% are willing to use an alarm to notify them if they are near their stop
35% missed their stop by falling asleep, 30% were distracted by their phones, and the remaining had their own reasons.
Throughout my research, I discovered that commuters have core needs for a relaxed and hassle-free commute experience.
Worry-free commute so they can utilize the time while they travel to their destination
Daily commuters usually try to sneak in a little nap or sleep since a few of them are sleep deprived, so they need something to wake them up before their stop.
I prototyped an interaction where users just need the basic function, an alarm that triggers depending on the time they want depending on the estimated time of arrival
This is the main screen or home screen, users will be notified if the location/gps on their phone is turned on
Gps is essential to be on as it provides the most accurate travel time
Users will be able to track their location(real time)
Users will be able to set and review details on how they like to be alerted.
( Users will be asked how many minutes/hours they want to be alerted before arriving at their destination, so users can prepare to get off. )
